When working with individuals one-on-one, I blend naturopathic principles, nutritional science, circadian and quantum biology into a practical, holistic approach tailored to each person's life. I strive to combine complex scientific research with straightforward common sense to offer long-term, sustainable solutions for those seeking to restore their health and vitality. I believe in the body's inbuilt mechanisms, can resolve many issues on its own when provided with the right nutrients and conditions. Without healthy soil vegetables and herbs won’t grow at their best - I was really disappointed that my second vegetable patch was loaded with roots and the compost hadn’t actually composted properly due to lack of ventilation and not getting hot enough.
So re-distributed what we had and restarted the compost bin (with a bit more strategy), the plan is to dig out veg patch 2 sift the soil and put something down to prevent the roots growing up through it - if you have any ideas let me know in the comments."</antml:image>

I didn’t take medicines but I took a lot of supplements but it wasn’t until I stopped focusing on my biochemistry and biochemical pathways that I dropped the supplements and headed out to heal in nature and guess what - it worked!
I have become disillusioned by the centralised powers that push on to us toxic chemicals in our foods, influencers who push unrealistic diet plans, and supplement companies making us believe our soil is depleted so we have to take chemicals to replace them!!
I work with many people with chronic illness and many don’t believe the healing powers of nature - it’s not a quick fix but it is certainly where the magic happens.

I am always looking for safer and more eco friendly alternatives to fragrances and turning to natures offerings may also come with some health benefits.
Steamed orange peel, rosemary, clove, bay leaves, star anise and eucalyptus have been used for centuries to support lung issues, support the symptoms of colds and flu and aiding with the clearance of mucous. They also contain antimicrobial compounds.
Placing these sorted herbs in water and allowing them to simmer on your stove top releases these fragrances and compounds.
I have been using this method in my kitchen to help keep my home smelling fresh and seems to be helping clear my sinuses and lungs clear

I am now in my 15th year as a naturopath and nutritionist and in that time have dedicated many hours on enhancing my skills and knowledge as well as earning my Masters in Personalised Nutrition. I am seeing the fallout of vitamin d poisoning in my clinic with new clients presenting with high calcium and phosphate levels directly related to cholecalciferol (vitamin D) supplements.
In my opinion supplements are the same as medications, both chemicals that effect the body - functional medicine is the same as big pharma, both use the diagnosis / treatment model in clinic and correct imbalances using chemicals.
The list of supplements people come to me with is quite frankly disturbing and is something I am advocating for change on.

The research provides insight into the mechanisms underlying COVID-19-related gastrointestinal symptoms, such as diarrhoea, and presents an experimental model using murine jejunal loops to simulate these effects.
Key Findings:
The Spike protein induces significant inflammation in the murine jejunal loops, characterised by leukocyte infiltration, edema, and increased levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines (e.g., IL-6, TNF-α). This inflammation disrupts the intestinal mucosal barrier, leading to impaired gut function.
The study demonstrates that the Spike protein compromises the integrity of the intestinal mucosa. This includes alterations in the expression of tight junction proteins, leading to increased intestinal permeability and reduced transepithelial electrical resistance (TEER). These changes suggest a weakened barrier function, making the gut more susceptible to further damage and pathogen invasion.
The Spike protein causes degranulation of Paneth cells, leading to reduced levels of lysozyme, an important antimicrobial enzyme. It also diminishes mucin 2 (MUC2) expression in goblet cells, weakening the mucus layer that protects the intestinal epithelium.

Histidine, an important aromatic amino acid is best known in HIT and MCAS for is role in producing histamine. However histidine is also used to make urocanic acid (UCA). Histidine has a imidazole ring that is able to respond to UV light which starts to open up some fascinating mechanistic pathways.
UCA itself plays a role in maintaining optimal pH of the skin, provides moisture and provides protection to the skin against the harmful effects of UV rays. UV exposure converts trans-UCA to cis-UCA however this is where the research becomes a bit ambiguous because many papers link the cis form to cancer formation, and I do not believe this to be wholly accurate...Why.
Any studies that involve looking at the effects of UV light on human physiology generally lack precise control over light conditions in a laboratory setting, these studies tend to look at the effects of one spectrum of light in isolation whereas our natural light exposure contains both visible and non visible spectrums at the same time. This means our current understanding of UV effects on UCA and indeed countless other molecules may be inaccurate and/or incomplete.
As mentioned above histidine (UCA’s precursor) also produces histamine. This raises an intriguing hypothesis: Could UV deficiency contribute to histamine intolerance and mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS)? Many people with MCAS are light and sun sensitive so stay indoors and further avoid exposure, could it be that the increased histamine is the body’s desperate attempt to capture UV light or is it trying to make and capture ultra weak UV in the body?

As mentioned above histidine (UCA’s precursor) also produces histamine. This raises an intriguing hypothesis: Could UV deficiency contribute to histamine intolerance and mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS)? Many people with MCAS are light and sun sensitive so stay indoors and further avoid exposure, could it be that the increased histamine is the body’s desperate attempt to capture UV light or is it trying to make and capture ultra weak UV in the body?
